This Privacy Policy describes how Bhramm (“the Service”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Chart information that you or your teacher enter: a name or nickname, date, time and place of birth, and an optional note. Birth details are personal information, and because they are precise they can identify a person.
Account information: a username; a password, stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash and never in readable form; and, if you choose to provide one, an email address.
Technical information: a record of activity on charts (see section 6) and the network address from which the activity came, together with cookies described in section 7.
We do not store the calculated chart. It is recalculated from the birth details each time it is opened. We do not knowingly collect any information beyond what is listed here.
We use your information only to provide and operate the Service: to calculate and display charts, to authenticate you, to let your teacher or the administrator support you, to send password-reset and account messages, to keep the Service secure, and to investigate misuse. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling or any unrelated purpose.
We process your chart information on the basis of your consent, given when you enter it or when it is entered on your behalf with your knowledge. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the chart or your account as described in section 9. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
Charts you save are accessible to you and to the administrator of the Service. Teacher accounts can read the chart library so that charts can be discussed in class. Other users cannot see your charts. If you sign in using a shared class login, everything saved under that login is accessible to everyone who holds it; use an account of your own if this matters to you. Anyone other than you sees only the nickname you choose, not your full name.
We do not sell or rent personal information and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. We use infrastructure providers who host the server and deliver email on our instructions, and who are permitted to handle information only for those purposes. We may disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of users or the Service.
Each time a chart is opened, saved, changed or deleted, we record who did it, when, and from which network address, so that any question of misuse can be answered. The log contains no birth details and is deleted after one year.
The Service uses cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember your display choices, such as date style, chart style, graha-name language and the chart you last opened. It does not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, but the Service will not work without the sign-in cookie.
Information is held on a private server, transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and protected by account sign-in. Access is limited to the roles described in section 4. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep chart and account information for as long as the chart or account exists and delete it as set out in section 9.
You may ask to see the information held about you, to have it corrected, and to have it deleted. You can delete any chart you own from the chart library; this is immediate and permanent. You can close your account by using Delete my account on the My account page. Deleting an account does not by itself delete the charts saved in it, so ask the administrator to remove both if that is what you want. For any other request, contact the administrator of your Bhramm account; we will respond within a reasonable time.
The Service is intended for adults and for students taking part in a course. A person under 18 should use the Service only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, who may ask us to review or delete the child’s information.
Astrological charts and interpretations are provided for education and personal reflection only. They are not professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal, financial or psychological advice.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will tell users through the Service. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
